Giving an Offering to the Spirits of a Familiar Ritual Space

In a space that is already home to your practice—such as your home, garden, or another well-known working space—the offering is given not as a request for entry, but as an act of gratitude and reaffirmation of your bond with the spirits of the place.

Stand in a central or significant spot within your space. Hold your offering in both hands and take a moment to acknowledge the spirits that dwell alongside you, the familiar presences that have witnessed your craft and you journey. Place the offering in a chosen spot, such as a hearth, altar, windowsill, or doorway, and speak the following words:

Spirits of this place, my friends and my watchers,
I honor you with gratitude and gift.
May our bond be strong, our goodwill enduring.
Lend your wisdom, your presence, your power to my rite.

Pause to acknowledge any response, then proceed with your working.
