wisely and slow; they stumble that run fast

the witch of the woods

My name is Anoka. I am a former professional educator turned homemaker, dabbler in metaphor and prose poetry. I am an ordained interfaith minister and practicing solitary Pagan. I am a pathological introvert, chronically ill, and autistic. I live with my wife and our cats in a cozy apartment that was once a hospital. I have been a practicing witch and spirit worker for twenty-five years.

I started my relationship with magic by blending cottage witchery and hedgecraft with the cunningways and folk remedies I learned from my grandmother. Over timeβ€”through the study of language, folklore and ancestral skillsβ€”my magical practice has evolved into a personal tradition that combines the wise-ways of my heritage, animistic magic, spirit work, and the ritual structure of modern traditional magic.

disclaimer

This website serves as my online witch’s cottage, so to speak, where I collect and chronicle my experiences with witchcraft, spirit work, and my spiritual practice. Its contents are entirely based on my personal experiences, magical worldview, and subjective personal gnosis. None of what I post here should be interpreted as being the right way to practice witchcraft or to live a Pagan life; it is simply the right way for me.
